Connect ChatGPT

Use OpsGates from ChatGPT with developer-mode connectors.

ChatGPT supports custom MCP connectors through developer mode. Menu names change from time to time; the steps below describe the flow.

  1. In ChatGPT open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and enable Developer mode.
  2. Go back to Apps & Connectors and click Create (or Add connector).
  3. Fill in: - Name: OpsGates - MCP server URL: your connector URL — a computer's (https://mcp.opsgates.com/c/…/mcp) or a server's (e.g. https://203-0-113-7.sslip.io/mcp) - Authentication: OAuth
  4. Save. ChatGPT opens the OpsGates sign-in page: for a computer, sign in with your OpsGates account; for a server, enter the server's login password. Click Allow.
  5. In a new chat, choose the connector from the + menu (or the tools menu) and ask away.

Your organization's ChatGPT workspace may need an admin to allow custom connectors.

ChatGPT asks for confirmation before tools that change things. OpsGates adds its own limits on top: the permission level and folders of each computer, and on servers a preview before every write or restart.
