Connect Claude

Claude on the web, desktop and mobile, and Claude Code.

Claude (web, desktop, mobile)

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and click Add custom connector.
  2. Name: OpsGates (or the name of your computer or server). URL: the connector URL from your dashboard: - a computer: https://mcp.opsgates.com/c/…/mcp (on the computer's page), - a server: e.g. https://203-0-113-7.sslip.io/mcp (end of the installer output, or sudo opsgate url).
  3. Click Add, then Connect.
  4. A sign-in page opens: - computer: sign in to OpsGates with your account (and your two-step code if it is on) and click Allow; - server: the page is served by your own server — check that the address is your server's, enter the server's login password and click Allow.
  5. In a conversation, open the tools menu and make sure the connector is enabled.

Connectors added on claude.ai are available in the desktop and mobile apps too. Custom connectors must be supported by your Claude plan; in organizations, an owner may need to allow them.

Good first prompts

  • "Use OpsGates to give me a health report of this server: uptime, disk, memory and failing services."
  • "Find why nginx returns 502 for app.example.com. Check the config and the error log."
  • "Show me what changed in /var/www/app since the last deploy (git)."

When the assistant wants to change something, it first shows you a preview (a diff, or "NOT restarted…"). Reply "yes, apply it" and it calls the tool again with confirmation.

Several computers or servers

Add one connector per computer or server, each with its own name and URL.

Claude Code

Add the computer or server with the browser sign-in (recommended):

claude mcp add --transport http opsgate https://YOUR-SERVER/mcp

Then type /mcp inside Claude Code, select opsgate and choose Authenticate. Your browser opens the OpsGates sign-in page.

For servers without a browser, use a static token:

# on your server
sudo opsgate token create my-laptop
# on your computer
claude mcp add --transport http opsgate https://YOUR-SERVER/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer ogt_..."

Signing out

  • Remove the connector in Claude's settings, or
  • computer: click Disconnect next to the app on the computer's page in your dashboard,
  • server: run sudo opsgate password on the server — a new password signs out every connected app.
